Introduction
Secret Double Octopus provides the ability to authenticate to Windows, Mac and the Users'
Portal through authenticators other than Octopus Authenticator. These third party
authenticators are supported by means of Authenticator plugins which determine the
authentications method(s) and behavior of these authenticators. Once the plugins are added
to the system they can serve as primary or secondary authenticators (or both) and act as OTP
validators (for One Time Password authentication) for users in specific directories.
This document provides step by step instructions for developing and maintaining customized
third party authentication plugins. These plugins can be added to Octopus Authentication
Server version 4.6.4 and above.
