In short

The General Settings tab holds your organization identity (name, logo, base URL, admin and support email) plus the global limits that govern console sessions and authenticator enrollment. Nothing in the Console works until the license activation file is uploaded from the License frame. Click Save after every change.

Enterprise details

These settings describe your organization to the system and to end users in the Octopus Authenticator mobile app.

Setting
Description
Organization Name
The name of your company — by default the name entered during installation of the Octopus Authentication Server. This name is displayed to users in the Octopus Authenticator mobile app.
Enterprise Base URL
The address of the Octopus Authentication Server, or of the load balancer in distributed deployments. All services use this address to reach the Authentication Server. Mandatory — the system cannot function without it.
Organization Logo
Displayed to users in the mobile app. Empty by default. Hover over the area, click Upload File and select a PNG or JPG. Supported image size is 128×128 pixels.
Admin Email
The address associated with your organization's Admin user. Notifications about network issues — for example an offline server — are sent here.
Support Email
The address to which requests for technical assistance should be sent.

License

The License section shows the status of your organization's license, including consumption details and expiration date. Reupload Activation File lets you upload a new license file at any time — see Activating your license below.

Additional general settings

Setting
Values and behavior
Max Enrolled Authenticators Per User
The maximum number of mobile and FIDO devices that can be enrolled for each user. Valid values 1–99. Drag the slider to adjust.
Management Console Idle Timeout
Minutes of inactivity before the Console session ends automatically. Values 2–60, default 10. A warning popup opens just before the timeout and offers to extend the session; if the user does not respond, the session ends.
Management Console Maximum Session Duration
Hours a user can remain continuously logged in. Values 1–24, default 3. When reached, the session ends regardless of activity; a warning popup opens one minute before logout.
Octopus Authenticator Failure Mode
Determines system behavior during network failure or unavailability of the Octopus Authentication Server. When System Failure Mode is enabled, authentication for all services falls back to username and password.
Note

After updating any setting on this tab, click Save.

Activating your license

Before you can begin working with the Octopus Management Console, you need to upload the license file. It is emailed to you during the deployment process, or supplied by the Octopus Customer Success team. Until you upload it, license information is not displayed in the Console and you are prompted to activate the system at every login.

1

In the License frame of the General Settings tab, click Upload Activation File. The End-User License Agreement popup opens.

2

Review the agreement. At the bottom of the popup, select I agree and click OK. The popup closes and the Open dialog is displayed.

3

Browse to the relevant license file and click Open. You are prompted for the activation file password that was sent together with the license file.

4

Enter the password and click Upload. On success a confirmation message appears and your license information is displayed in the License frame.

5

To upload the file again, or to upload a new license file, click Reupload Activation File and repeat steps 2–4.
