How to Bypass a User
Use bypass to grant the user temporary access when the ZeroPassword flow cannot be used (for example, device lost, app issues, urgent access needs). You can bypass either with a static password or with a temporary token.
Before you start
Prerequisites
- Admin/Helpdesk permissions to manage users.
- Access to the user record in the Admin Console.
Security notes
- Use the shortest bypass duration possible.
- Share tokens/passwords securely and only with the verified user.
- End bypass immediately after the issue is resolved.
Option A — Bypass with a static password
This option allows the user to log in using a password you define, for a set duration (or unlimited, if required by policy).
1) Open Manage Users

2) Click Edit on the user you want to bypass

3) Open the Security tab

4) Click BYPASS USER

5) Choose BYPASS (static password)

6) Enter the password you want to use

7) Select bypass duration (or set unlimited)

8) Click BYPASS to apply

Verify bypass status
After enabling bypass, confirm the user status shows as Bypass.
9) Return to Manage Users

10) Confirm the user status is Bypass

Option B — Bypass with a temporary token
This option generates a one-time temporary token for the user. The token is copied to your clipboard — paste it securely and provide it to the user.
1) Open the user → Security tab → click BYPASS USER

2) Select BYPASS with Temporary Token

3) Choose token options + validity time

Tip: Keep validity short and regenerate if needed.
4) Click BYPASS to generate the token

5) Confirm the token was copied to clipboard

6) Paste the token into a secure channel (example: text editor) before sharing

End bypass (recommended)
Once the user is back to normal authentication (device recovered / issue resolved), end bypass immediately.
Click END BYPASS under the user → Security tab
