macOS Login with Octopus Authenticator
Passwordless authentication to Apple macOS using the Octopus Authenticator mobile app
This guide explains how to perform a passwordless login to Apple macOS using the Octopus Authenticator. Authentication is completed by approving a secure push notification on your mobile device, eliminating the need to enter a macOS password.
Step 1 – Initiate macOS Login
From the macOS login screen, select Octopus Authenticator from the login options dropdown, then click the Go arrow to start authentication.
Step 2 – Receive Push Notification
A push notification is sent to your mobile device. Tap the notification to continue the authentication process.
Step 3 – Approve Authentication
On your phone, tap Approve and authenticate using Fingerprint or Face Recognition.
Step 4 – Complete Biometric Verification
Complete the biometric verification on your mobile device to confirm your identity.
Step 5 – Verify Successful Login
Once authentication is successful, the macOS desktop will load and you will be logged in securely.
