Overview
Octopus Desk for Mac version 4.4.1 introduces new authentication capabilities, stronger password synchronization behavior, improved end-user experience on macOS, and targeted bug fixes to increase stability and usability across login, unlock, and onboarding flows.
What’s New in 4.4.1
- Online OTP support with unified online and offline OTP authentication under the Octopus OTP method
- Smart password history scanning to improve password synchronization between the workstation and the Authentication Server
- Enhanced systray options so users can retrieve the AD password directly from the menu bar actions
- FileVault customization options, including FileVault visibility control and friendly-name configuration for the Octopus FileVault account
- UI improvements such as always-visible Octopus menu bar icon and full screen Custom Unlock preserving the user wallpaper
- Desktop flow enhancements including authentication method caching and streamlined onboarding/authenticator screen behavior
Bug Fix Highlights
- Offline OTP buffer storage issue in the macOS Keychain
- Login screen misalignment
- Black screen delay before the Login screen appears
- Default value handling for
