Date Time Changes on MACOS When Octopus Desk is Enabled

Modified on Mon, 27 Nov, 2023 at 5:15 PM

Mac (version sonoma 14.1.x) shows wrong date and time when setting it to automatic

In order to change the the date/time to manual you should disable the Octopus Desk user to allow manuall enter the password.

The reason you need to disable the Octopus app is when the data is going back in time the authenticator will not allow you to use the Octopus app as all the certificates are not valid and there for no authentication will happen

In order to change the date/Time please follow these steps:

  1. Login or unlock the Mac workstation (using your password from the Octopus mobile authenticator)
    1. Open the Octopus authenticaor on your mobile
    2. Click on your account
    3. Click on "Show Credentials"
    4. Type The Password on your Mac (Please note it is case sensitive)

2. Open Octopus Prefences

3. Click on Manage button to Disable the Octopus App and enter the password to disable the Octopus

Note: The reason for disabling Octopus authenticator for this action is to allow change the date without a need to authenticate (authentication will not work in this case)

4. Once Octopus Desk is disabled you can now manually set the Date and Time on System settings

5. Once Date and time are set , you can now enable back Octopus Desk and continue working normally with Octopus authentication
