• User is already enrolled with a FIDO2 security key
• macOS device is managed by Secret Double Octopus
• FIDO2 key is connected to the device

Step 1: macOS session is locked

The macOS screen is locked either manually by the user or automatically by the system.

Step 2: Click the Password field

On the macOS locked screen, click inside the Password field.

Step 3: Enter the FIDO2 PIN

Enter the 4- or 6-digit PIN associated with your FIDO2 security key and press Enter.

Step 4: FIDO2 key starts flashing

The FIDO2 security key will begin flashing, indicating that user verification is required.

Step 5: Touch the FIDO2 security key

Touch the FIDO2 security key to complete user verification.

Step 6: macOS session unlocks

Once verification is successful, the macOS desktop unlocks and the user regains access to the system.
